Last tunesday I treated you to some silly song by Mindless Drug Hoover but more often you’ll catch me listening to darker tunes, and what do you know? The next band down in my library is one of my all time favorites: Ministry. To start with I’ll give you this staining track from their second album (Twitch 1986) called We Believe This early synthpop album features Jourgenson singing in a fake English accent and I think it’s stil a very up to date song (wat betreft the lyrics that is) Next stop the year of our Lord 1992 Ministry’s big break album Psalm 69 (with the lovely ad on title: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs) The opening track of this album, called NWO, is a tribute song to George Bush (senior) and features soundbites from the afore mentioned. The sound is getting heavier by this time but you can stil call it industrial dance. After a period of less spirited albums we arive at 2004 and they put out their latest album: The House of the Molé. Again the opening track features a Bush (junior this time). Its called NOW and this time there will be no dancing. Jourgenson has admitted to making better music when a Bush is in the whitehouse and says he is sometimes tempted to vote republican (I guess he’s joking though). Enough with all the typing, enjoy! :)

pedigree:
One nice and easy track from Ninja Tune’s Pest and the big surprise of 2004 in drum&bass-land, Nightbreed. Enjoy!

Update: A bonus track to say thanks to Bebop.

Extra update: Fresh from the store: Speedy J & Chris Liebing! w00t!

chocotofferts:
880 South in the fast lane..(the rest).

goodie2shoes:
This one is for Dennis: Velvet Underground - Jesus

Sergeant Baker
Bad Astronaut (featuring members of Lag Wagon Joey Cape and Derrick Plourde, RIP) with a nice song called Logan’s run. And of course the usual “bonus” track (no Sony DRM toolkit hack exploit, sorry for that), Dave Matthews Band with the brilliant song Bartender (whom I’ve given way too much money this weekend btw).

JayJay
Hey! It’s Jamie Foxx on that Kanye West song! No wait, it’s Ray Charles!

Wrong! It’s John Mayer Trio - I Got A Woman
