I ran into a torrent of these Japanese stoners yesterday. I must admit I heard their name a lot in the circuit but never checked them out… I must say now I did that I like them a lot!
They took their name from a Melvins song, that should already give some hints… They also have been working zusammen with the Japanese god of noise Merzbow on several albums.
Some info on the band can be found here on the site of southern lord records, listen to some of their stuff there too…

All this talk about music videos made me think of a realy nice one by Placebo. I rather doubt anybody has seen this on tv for reasons that will become clear when you down the vid (filefactory alert!). Then I looked up the rules for Ochblog in the welcome email choco sent me and it read:

The rules? No rules, totale anarchie, behalve porno (tenzij in kunstzinnig excuus verpakt, maar dan nog eigenlijk niet).

So against better knowing in here’s the video of the French version of Protect Me which is sure to warm up every frozen ochblogger. Pr0n the way it’s meant to be if you ask me with nice music, low lights and a merry atmosphere.

It’s that time of the year again, everybody looking back at the year that’s nearing it’s end. Sometimes it’s good to look back a bit further in history. I did just that and found this hilarious video. No, it’s not a sketch by Monthy Python, the music is way too good for that, and no, the guy next to Peter Tosh is not the lawholder from Juinen. This was meant to be a serious video clip. Just look back (and laugh).

So that’s it for this year. Ochblog, which started out on April 16th 2005 as a one-man bullshit-blog with 2 visitors, has transformed to a just-about-anything-but-mainly-music-blog, with 21 editors, and an average of 1.258.388 hits per month (!!) and over a 1000 unique visits a day, and is now mainly known as “the blog that shall not be mentioned”.
