Hawkwind- the Lemmy years

This week I read the excellent Lemmy auto-biography ‘White Line Fever’ (thanks for the tip Mr.Goodie2Shoes!). During the reading I got a bit interested in the music of Hawkwind.. I found it and will share the booty with you people!
The band Hawkwind was a trippy spacerock band that got quite a kick in the butt from Lemmy joining. They could be seen as one of the godfathers of the stonerrock movement (next to Sabbath of course). Their shows included projections, extensive lightshows, poetry readings and nude dancing! Lemmy eventually had to leave the band when he was arrested for the possession of some dubious substances while trying to cross the border to Canada.
The rest is history…. Of niet dan?

Lemmy is de baas. Hij was nog wel ’s te gast bij Mark Lamar’s Never mind the buzzcocks, heerlijk ‘over-the-top’ en tevens beschikkend over zelfspot. Kostelijk figuur.
