The Gories - I Know You Fine, But How You Doin’

Many years ago when Ajax, a dutch football team, won some sort of championship and all the fans were celebrating this in a barbaric manner, I went to see The Gories in the Melkweg. They did an amazing show for a pretty small audience. I bought the record, let them sign it, went home through the barbaric masses and played the record for hours.
This is one of the best records of lo-fi rock ‘n roll. Two guitarists who pretend they can’t play and a drummer with one tom and a tamboerijn is more than enough to make a perfect record.
So, in het kader van the lo-fi month, here is The Gories, ripped from vinyl in the ultimately staining format AAC. Enjoy!

Juist broekmans!
Even als vakmalloot:
AAC werkt veel beter op ruisig signaal dan MP3.
Het daarom bij uitstek geschikt voor ranzige punk/metal en andersoortige noisemuziek.

oeioei! nerd-talk over mp3 en AAC.. laat Sifco het maar niet horen! ;)
Ik heb deze plaat met een heel andere hoes trouwens.. misschien nog relevant te melden dat ie geproduceerd is door de grote Alex Chilton (ex-Big star) en dat The Gories daarna gezworen hebben nooit meer iets met ‘m te maken willen hebben, net als trouwens de meeste bands die ooit met Chilton gewerkt hebben. (Je zou bijna gaan denken dat het aan hem ligt.)
