Dusminguet - Go

May 11th, 2006 by Hank

The big holiday is nadering with rasse schreden so it’s time to get ready for some grande roadtrips. Driving on the best highways of Europe (that is the capital of Spain, yes) with your loved one on the passenger seat is great but it’s even better with the right music. So today I’ll start this new series. I wanted to call it Music For Driving On The European Highways With Your Loved One On The Passenger Seat but that’s too long, MFDOTEHWYLOOTPS sounds stupid so I’ll call it Och’s Romantic Asphalt Hits.
This year the series Och’s Romantic Asphalt Hits stands in the sign of Musica Mestiza, You know well, that mixture of all kinds of music. Manu Chaoish, if you like. I found an amazing amount of good quality records on the internets. It’s amazing what people put out there!
The first album featured in this series is called Go and it’s from the band Dusminguet, which is a cool sounding word in Catalan but means nothing. They are from a small town close to Barcelona. I think you can hear that from their music. It has a very nice easy vibe. It’s perfect for Italian highways, zigzagging through the traffic with an easy speed of 150 km/h with your loved one on the passenger seat, on your way to Ancona to catch a ferry to Greece. For example. But I guess it does just as well on a dutch countryroad which takes you home.
