Bloody Hell
May 31st, 2007 by Maks
A very terrifying report at yesterdays news (English, Dutch) in The Netherlands. Up north in the city of Groningen four men are in custody, suspected of deliberately injecting homosexual men with HIV-infected blood after they had been GHB drugged and raped. Meanwhile the ticker is already at twelve men.
Do we need to say more? Straight or queer, I don’t give a bloody (/Seth) fuck. Insane people are everywhere unfortunately. And although I can understand their disappointment in life, reports like this simply make me feel terribly sick.
No fun.
October 30-31, 1995.
Location: the legendary and infamous Club RoXY, Amsterdam
Joost van Bellen, artistic director of RoXY and popular DJ at that time organises his fifth Loveball. The Loveballs were meant to bring more attention on AIDS and to raise money. But most of all it was a reason to dance yo ass off for a couple of days. In close cooperation with magazine Revu, a compilation of the event was released on CD and mixed by DJ van Bellen.
You see, HIV can be posi+ive and fun.

BOMB IT
May 30th, 2007 by Maks

There’s a saying in Afrkaanz that goes… ”Net harse en dwarse skryf hulle name op mure en glasse” which means only fools and idiots write their names on walls and glasses.
Last month ‘BOMB IT’ was presented at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
”BOMB IT is the explosive new documentary from Jon Reiss investigating the most subversive and controversial art form currently shaping international youth culture: graffiti. BOMB IT will be the most comprehensive film project about graffiti and street art done to date and for years to come, featuring original and rare footage from the top graffiti writers of modern times, from Cornbread and Taki 183 to Shepard Fairey, Os Gemeos, and up-and-coming artists pushing the boundaries of this longstanding artistic and social movement.”

In their everlasting sigh to world domination through de internets has googel again a new toytje developed. They had already a funny worldwide satellite and air foto archive, now this is being extended with panoramic photo’s from the ground. So to see made fromout a driving car. It looks like the same technique as the Dutch company ‘cyclomedia’ uses. (Check if they made pics from your community if you have M$$iExplOdER[/*--*])

Regret Is What The Boer Schèt

1985.
Highly excited because of the ‘Halber Mensch’ release and my introduction to Einstürzende Neubauten. An addiction is born.
1991.
As one can speak of ‘Best Of’, there it was and I bought the rarities and best of album ‘Strategies Against Architecture II’.
1993.
The release of ‘Tabula Rasa’. A complete new Einstürzende Neubauten-sound came up with this one. They still manage somehow to hold my attention over the years.
1996.
Hitje! It’s quite unbelievable but the Neubauten gain some fame outside of their scene with the album ‘Ende Neu’ because of the track ‘Stella Maris’, a duet by Blixa Bargeld and Meret Becker (Alexander Hacke’s wife at that time).
2001.
A new Praxis-store opens it’s doors at the Amsterdamseweg 127, Arnhem.
2004.
One of the most memorable concerts I’ve ever seen. Not because of it’s brilliance, but just for being part of it. Once.
April 18th, 2006.
Downing Neubautens debut-album ‘Kollaps‘, provided by our beloved editor Goodie2Shoes. Pity it wasn’t a torrent though.
2007.
Buying a second hand five Euro (gladfully!) copy of ‘Ende Neu Remixes’.
Should have never done that.
