Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS

Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS is not your traditionally Weekendmovie and/or World War II flick . It is a movie about the horrific experiments which took place in camps of the Nazi regime during World War II. Ilsa, played by sexploitation star Dyanne Thorne, acts like a Mengele to prove that women can stand more pain than men and therefor are more suited to fight against the allies.

It goes without saying that the torture and bloodsplatters are not from the air. Combined with unfunctional nakedness and a lot of nazi uniforms the ingredients for a great sexploitation movie have all been fulfilled.

So expect everything you can imagine by torture in concentration camps and it is in these movie. However the over-acting and the use of hilarious german music makes this a truly cult/camp classic. The torture scenes are not very well filmed, leaving a lot to the twisted and sick imagination of the viewer. So is it really sick as the story goes? Well if you’re easily offended and every mention to World War II makes your toes hurt… yes. For the more experienced bad movie watcher the answer should be no (I hope).

Swastika Pr0n
Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS can be categorized into the Swastika Pr0n section. A subgenre within the sexploitation scene which existed mainly in the late 60s and the 70s. In 1968, Lee Frost made the movie “Love Camp 7“, this movie was a hit in Canada (who’s too blame?) and Cinepix wanted to roll into the swastika pr0n market as well. So they invited David F. Friedman (actor in fornamed movie) to make a film like Love Camp 7. In 1975 Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS was the inevitable result. Friedman was credited as Herman Traeger because the movie turned out to be so disturbing that he choosed to take another moniker.

Dyanne Thorne
Ilsa is impersonated by Dyanne Thorne. Thorne showed up in some tv-series in the late 60s, but never made the big step to a Hollywood career, so she decided to play in several low budget exploitations movies. With the release of the first Ilsa movie she made her breakthrough to a larger public. After that she played in three more Ilsa movies. Since then she’s one of the most recognized faces of the sexploitation scene. A reputation she still has to live up with. Biography.

For people who are unfamiliair with this format, RTFM. Alternatively you can play the VTS_08_*.VOB files from the harddisk with VLC Mediaplayer and change the audiotrack to english!
