no joke!

I get loads of crap pushed through my narrow mailbox spleet every week. I have been thinking sometimes to plack one of those stickers on the clap of my very narrow mailbox spleet… But then I would miss out on fun like this message above. It’s taken from the ViaVia, it used to be one of Holland’s biggest advertisement papers for the common folks.. Before teh Internets took over that is… So now ViaVia is a free paper god knows how they pay for it.. whatever.. Please help our Phil Collins Fan in need!!!!

p00lw00t!No way I’m going to try to write down the Stones history here in my own words, as it already has been done hundreds of times.
Or should I? Hm, well…
Maybe I should just shorten their history a little and bring it back to it’s pure essence? Let’s give that a try.

It’s spring 1962. Lewis Brian Hopkin Jones meets Keith Richards and Mick Jagger at the (therefor) famous Ealing Jazz Club in London. He’s 20 years of age at that time. Together they raise ‘The Rolling Stones’ and do their first gig in July 1962 at the Marqueeclub in London. A supergroup is born. Jones style of life was rough: busloads of drugs passed by, but - and this is the most important part of my (ahem) Stones biography - he managed to teache Richards and Jagger how to play a credible white man’s blues.
Seven years and a broken heart later (Richards took his girlfriend Anita Pallenberg) a nice dose of drugs leaves Jones floating in a pool, unable to save hisself.
Brian Jones got only 27 years old.

Rolling Stones - Brian’s Blues (never officially released)

As an anthropologist with a strong interest in social online communities (or virtual communities) I have a fieldday almost everyday. Because it seems like every day a new community site appears online. Today a friend of mine mailed me this new community website with our famous sex pervert and animal lover Martin Gaus.

Coming pinxter monday i will be riding the Elfstedentocht. I won’t be skating the ice between the eleven Friesian cities however. And i’ll leave my bicycle at home. I am going to ride this tocht der tochten on a motorcycle. It’s supposed to be one big traffic jam, but there’s only one way to find out.

While I will be destroying a perfectly good clutch, you guys might take the time to check out some motorcycle history.
