Yesterday one of South Africa’s big stars died. Lucky Dube got shot bij carhijackers in Johannesburg, common practice in South Africa. In front of his children, to add more drama to it. He was one of Africa’s famoustst reggae-artist. He was born in, how lucky can you be, Ermelo.

On wikipedia you can read more about him, bijvoorbeeld why he was called Lucky. His song Together as one (beetje Ebony & Ivory-liedje gecombineerd met het acteerwerk van een gemiddeld Kinderen voor Kinderen-sterretje) was voted one of Africa’s top 10 songs by BBC readers and listeners. Here a liverecording. I’m not a big reggaefan (I for instance am never shure if it’s reggae or reggea), but a friend of mine gave me a koppel of years ago two cd’s and they weren’t all that bad. If I can find them (our house still looks like we moved the day before yesterday/ Edlog), I will shurely put them on Rapidshare.
