On the 4th of december in 1993 Frank Zappa died of prostate cancer. He was 52 and had a ‘highly productive’ career of filming, writing, composing and playing music. His discography consists of 75 albums: 57 pre-, 18 postmortem.
There is a lot to be said about Zappa and lots of people do that. Everything you want and don’t want to know about Zappa, you can read in the zappa-wikipedia-pages.
Tonight Radio6 commemorates Zappa with a 2 hours programm. On that site there’s much more to be found about FZ. But there are tons of FZ-fan/hagiography/buttsecks-pages. Gail Zappa, the wife of mister Zappa, sits on Zappa’s heritage like Rachel Hazes. The Chrome Dinette used to be an nice site until Gail set her lawyers loose.
For those of you who don’t dig Zappa because ‘it’s just so complicated’, here’s Stricly Commercial, the album with all the ‘big hits’.
