Filmfestival Rotterdam 2008

Lots of feminist roadmovies and films about gay cowboys eating pudding. Not much left to watch (certainly not as much as last year and even that year was worse than the year before). Still… the few films I did see were mostly excellent.

No Country for Old Men
Some impressions:
- Less visitors but I could be mistaken.
- Having a guest card autumns though the fact I couldn’t take fellow ochers with me was less.
- People SMS’ing constantly during the movie should be executed positionlegally (this is a new irritation which can be added to last years list).
- Dude from the festival introducing a Taiwanese director and when that director makes a joke in chinese laughing like a maniac before the translation starts. Yes liquoricedick, we can see that you know a few words in chinese but did you really want to show that you’re a fat attention whore?
- Not enough gangster, horror, korean, sci-fi, hong-kong, manga movies all around.
- Excellent atmosphere with real friendly people. Luckily no change from other versions in that respect.

Ben dit jaar niet naar het IFFR geweest, kwam er niet echt van en ik zag idd niet heel veel tofs deze keer.

No Country for Old Men
heerst trouwens, vooral de acteurs verhaal lijn, prachtig!

Was echt sms’en gast. Schuin voor me tijdens No Country for Old Men. Film totaal verziekt maar goed, ik ga nog wel een keertje naar een dinsdagmiddagmatinee ofzo, dat is de film wel waard.
Voor de rest 1 keer een moderate breather naast me gehad maar wonderwel erg weinig irritaties bij de andere films.

Ik heb no country for old men weten te verkrijgen als een dvd screener nodog, dus je kunt ‘m ook nog eens thuis bekijken als je wilt.
Verder weer niet naar het IFFR geweest, geen doekoe.

Ja, heb hier ook een prima versie van No Country liggen maar zie’m toch liever in de bios wegens prachtige beelden.
