Yeah! It’s time again for the Stripdagen Haarlem! Every year a great event for lovers of art, music, black lines, graphics and cult.
The home style of the festival this year is delivered by Roel Smit, also known as one of the lead singers of the legendary salon punk band Human Alert. Next to the whole festivals’ housestyle, he will also design the festival beer and will present his book “Rock and Roel” at the Patronaat in Harlem. I shall probably not attend this evening because of my expected personal delivery of vl0gje, but if he/she is still in the womb, I’ll be attending the festivals’ day programme.
Ikiro, gast and IPM alert: one of the themes this year is wheels and bicycles in the special.

Kroonjuwelen; Hard Times, Good Times, Better Times is een documentaire over de opkomst van de graffiti in Amsterdam. (Of all places, I know.) Van de punkperiode tot de hiphop en op muren, metro’s en trams. Graffiti heeft wel wat aan underground ingeboet misschien; het is zelfs een heuse kunststroming en het feit dat men een docu maakt over je zegt wellicht ook iets, maar ik zou zeggen; kijkt u voor uzelf middels de pas uitgekomen DVD of via de demonoids.
Inspiratie om eens deze docu te pakken kwam voor mij trouwens omdat ik eens ging zoeken op Dr. Rat, wiens bizarre collages wat mij betreft kunstig laveren tussen de inhoud van de kantlijn van een middelbareschool wiskundeschrift, punk uitingen en traditionele kunst. Al googlend vond ik daarop een mooi verhaal.
Nog een aardig kort artikeltje hier (demonoidslinck) ook, als we dan toch bezig zijn. Over de regulering die er tegenwoordig is.
Dutch weblog Verlichtingshumanisten has a nice historical overview of ‘offensive art’. Great fun to see all these ‘crowd pleasers’ on one page..

I thought I’d share these few automotove and other transport pics with you. They’re from my archive of nice pics that I find. IThey’ve been “lying” around for some time, and well; I thought it would be nice to free them once again and make them public. I guess these are all old ads and stuff like that. Not he best quality but maybe you like them. Could be useful for some photoshopping, some time. Who knows!
