Stripping days Harlem

Yeah! It’s time again for the Stripdagen Haarlem! Every year a great event for lovers of art, music, black lines, graphics and cult.
The home style of the festival this year is delivered by Roel Smit, also known as one of the lead singers of the legendary salon punk band Human Alert. Next to the whole festivals’ housestyle, he will also design the festival beer and will present his book “Rock and Roel” at the Patronaat in Harlem. I shall probably not attend this evening because of my expected personal delivery of vl0gje, but if he/she is still in the womb, I’ll be attending the festivals’ day programme.
Ikiro, gast and IPM alert: one of the themes this year is wheels and bicycles in the special.

My personal favorites:

* Built to Expose at the Jopenkerk: an exhibit of skatedecks by people like Hein de Kort, Erik Kriek, Femke Hiemstra, Luuk Bode, Peter Pontiac, Angelique, Typex, Def P, Vince and Shamrock
* Exhibit ‘Jazz & bulles’ at the Kunstcentrum Haarlem: “Music for the eyes”
* work of Roel Smit will be shown also at Lijstenmakerij Keppel
* maybe interesting with the Nekschot affaire in mind: exhibit in Café De lift: ‘Wat zeur je nou? Distriminatie verstript’
And then off course the beurzen will be of special interest to attend. Next to the terraces at the Grote Markt.

Muxdubtape

Mixtapes are ‘hip’.. Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore edited a nice coffee table book several years ago about this 80’s/90’s nostalgia phenomenon. Just before I wrote this post I noticed a link that fellow Ocher Joid had posted in our infamous BullShitChat. It was a link to a site called Muxtape.com. They allow you to make your own ‘mixtape’ that is saved on their server! How cool! The limit is 12 songs. Not bad at all.

Since several Ochers have asked me about my love for the Dubstep genre I created a custom 58 minute Dubstep mixtape.. >>Here<<
