After seeing this vlog, dropped by Betsy in the BSC, I thought we can do better! So on August the 2ed we went to my wreak / boat and shot the first ‘Das Och Boot’ vlog with special quest Choco at the helm.

In the vlog I paid tribute to all the men who helped to save the ship from further decay.

Can you believe it has been 27 years ago today 8/8/1980 that Xanadu was released onto the big screen. I remember going to see it at the movie theater and i was so excited. There had already been alot of promotion up to it’s release. Olivia’s single “Magic” was #1 and in heavy rotation on top 40 radio stations. It was a very exciting time. Three Chinese guys decided to build their own Transformer after seeing the recent blockbuster movie. Unfortunately you won’t hear any cool sounds or commands to lay down your weapons. Unable to transform or move, the X2 is a 1,200 pound kick ass statue that cost about $8,000 to make. If you think that is cool, they are planning on making Optimus Prime next…[via]

DEN HAAG - Het optreden onder een valse identiteit op internet wordt strafbaar. Minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin van Justitie komt met wetgeving daartoe. Hij heeft dat zondag gezegd in het tv-programma Buitenhof.

De minister wil op deze manier voorkomen dat volwassenen op chatboxen zich voordoen als een kind, om zo contact te leggen met kinderen die ze seksueel willen misbruiken.

Hirsch Ballin mag door het ijs zakken, alle respect van mijn kant verloren. Waarom lees de comments onder het artikel maar. Spuugziek word ik van dit gestuntel met vrijheden van deze compleet wereldvreemde overheid! Wanneer zijn we eens af van die Hippie generatie?

Update: Ah zie je wel, Hirsch Ballin wist niet waarover hij het had.
Nu.nl heeft artikel aangepast van “Online identiteit verwisselen wordt strafbaar” naar “Kinderen verleiden via internet wordt strafbaar” Ministerie van Justitie verbetert nu de minister z’n uitglijder en voorziet de media met informatie over de werkelijke wetsverandering.

Last Saturnday Amsterdam was part of the Zombiewalk. It was lots of fun to watch, especially a guy who walked around with roadtoll in his hands. (updated) (updated 2)There are more pictures here and here and a police stream on flickr. Enjoy the vid.

Update: Regarding the police intervention, we were actually standing next to the photographer when he was asked to remove the photos. At the time we wondered what was going on, since we couldn’t make out if they were just checking the photos or really removing. Also was he a Police Photographer or an Activist Photographer? We weren’t sure. As turns out the cameraguy was neither. We surely found the whole police attendance overdone (overkill). And why did they need dog cars? They might be dead people but their still humans! I did see a danger with the busy tram traffic and such dancing crowd (barely a few meters from the tram lines), which is dangerous. But the manner they started pushing them alll the way to Paradiso made me think the police liked to have their cup of coffee rather sooner than later, instead of enjoying the happening.

Update 2:
The action of police, besides not being legal, seems to have been in vain too, especially because of the deletion action: we got reports of that people are sending their pictures around…

The crowd however enjoyed the event much and the atmosfeer with the music was a nice addition to the evening. Worth a second edition.
