Dieses ist der Dokumentarfilm über Wacken (demonoid), nicht das Schwermetallfestival an sich, aber, wie das Leben in diesem kleinen Dorf ist, das Wirt zum größten Metall-Festival in der Welt ist: Wacken geöffnete Luft. Ich fand dieses vor einiger Zeit und kombinierte den Film, der noch eine uncorrupted Akte mit einer Probe, einem Anhänger und einem newsbulletin in diese Stromakte war.

Leider bilden keine Subtitles, also müssen Sie Deutsches verstehen, möglicherweise Ihre Fremdsprachefähigkeiten eine Spitze aus. ;) (babelfish über alles fur diese text!!)

Inspiratie om eens deze docu te pakken kwam voor mij trouwens omdat ik eens ging zoeken op Dr. Rat, wiens bizarre collages wat mij betreft kunstig laveren tussen de inhoud van de kantlijn van een middelbareschool wiskundeschrift, punk uitingen en traditionele kunst. Al googlend vond ik daarop een mooi verhaal.

Nog een aardig kort artikeltje hier (demonoidslinck) ook, als we dan toch bezig zijn. Over de regulering die er tegenwoordig is.

Can you believe it has been 27 years ago today 8/8/1980 that Xanadu was released onto the big screen. I remember going to see it at the movie theater and i was so excited. There had already been alot of promotion up to it’s release. Olivia’s single “Magic” was #1 and in heavy rotation on top 40 radio stations. It was a very exciting time. Divine also started a succesful singing career in… disco ofcourse! He (or shall we call him ’she’?) had smashing hits - even mainstreams hits - with tunes like ‘You Think You’re A Man’, ‘Shake It Up’, ‘Native Love’ and ‘Shoot Your Shot’. Most of them became instant gay-classics. And there is this story about ‘Shoot Your Shot’ as Divine was a heroin-addict for quiet some time. He even succeeded to smuggle the dope within his bra to all over the world.

Some impressions:
- Less visitors but I could be mistaken.
- Having a guest card autumns though the fact I couldn’t take fellow ochers with me was less.
- People SMS’ing constantly during the movie should be executed positionlegally (this is a new irritation which can be added to last years list).
- Dude from the festival introducing a Taiwanese director and when that director makes a joke in chinese laughing like a maniac before the translation starts. Yes liquoricedick, we can see that you know a few words in chinese but did you really want to show that you’re a fat attention whore?
- Not enough gangster, horror, korean, sci-fi, hong-kong, manga movies all around.
- Excellent atmosphere with real friendly people. Luckily no change from other versions in that respect.

Jonathan Ross is sort of a connaisseur of Japanese flicks, or at least he poses as such in his, not very unknown to the Och audience, documentary Asian Invasion. In his chapter on Japanese anime, Jonathan pays special attention to the works of Hayao Miyazaki. Even more attention paying Ochers may remember him as the director of Mononoke-Hime (1997), an Och’s Weekend Movie featured in our cinema last year’s summer. So on Jonathan’s advise and Och’s request we present another Miyazaki flick as this week’s Och’s Weekend Movie: Spirited Away (2001).

Awarded with an academy award for best Animation, Spirited Away is a Japanese Alice in Wonderland: some 10-yr old chick named Chihiro (Japanese for Sijtje) ends up in a world filled with magic and weirdos and has to find her way back home again. As for the Miyazaki touch, let me quote from a K.U.T.-recensie:

Magistrale klanktapijten, satirische hekelingen, verwijzingen naar verschillende geledingen van de Japanse mythologie. En vooral: een tot in de pietluttigste details verzorgt canvas, onvoorstelbare kleuren, schitterende travels en dat alles zonder één enkele computerframe.
